Owners of rental properties should make them selves familiar with the document which governs the interaction between tenant and landlord.  Each action that you take need to be according to this act because the consequences can be costly.  If you write your own lease, know that anytime that you write that is contrary to the landlord and tenant act will be disregarded.  In each process of leasing there are necessary steps to be taken; this document specifies the proper steps to take.
